About Composition:
Ashoka
The Minor Rock Edicts (in which Ashoka is sometimes named in person,
as in Maski and Gujarra) as well as the Minor Pillar Edicts are very religious
in their content: they mention extensively the Buddha (and even previous
Buddhas as in the Nigali Sagar inscription
Lodhra
loturine, loturidine, colloturine, flavonoids, tannins, salireposide,
symplocoside, betasito-glycoside, symploveroside, and benzoylsalireposide
Dhataki
tannins, cyaniding, octasonal, diglucoside, and beta-sitosterol. Leaves
show the presence of ellagic acid, polystachoside, pelargoidine-3 and 5-diglucoside.
Amalaki ghan
which is a strong rejuvenator and anti-oxidant. It is a rich herbal source of Vitamin
C and Iron. It also helps in increasing the absorption of Iron from cereals and pulses
in food, and thereby strengthens RBCs and rebuilds and maintains new tissues.
Bahera
It contains chemical constituents like tannic acid, ellagic acid, chebulagic acid, gallic acid,
oxalic acid, phyllemblin, β-sitosterol, mannitol, galactose, glucose, fructose, rhamnose etc. in it.
Harad
phenolic acids, benzoic acids, cinnamic acids, flavonoids, beta-sitosterol
(a plant sterol used to reduce cholesterol levels) and glycosides.
Saunth Extract
Sonth can be used as an antioxidant. It may be used against bacterial infections,
stomach disorders, headaches and coughs. It can kill and inhibit the growth of cancer-causing cells.
Amra Beej
The Amra fruit, along with other parts of the tree, are also recommended in Ayurveda.
The bark, the flowers, the leaves and the fruit, are good for digestion, regulating blood
cholestrol and keeps heart healthy. It particularly deserves attention if you or someone
you know is pregnant.
Nagarmotha
carbohydrates, fat, sugar, gum, essential oil, albuminoid matter, starch fiber and ash.
Raktachandan
Red Chandan may also contain biologically active compounds like phenols, alkaloids,
saponins, flavonoids, glycosides, triterpenoids, sterols, tannins, isoflavones, glucosides,
savinin and calocedrin.
Jeera Safed
Cumin is a seed spice belonging to the family umbelliferae. Cumin and value added
products from cumin are used in food flavoring and perfumery. Cumin contains volatile
oil (3-4%), cuminaldehyde, the major active principle, which is present to an extent of 45-50%.
Daruharidra
The plant includes several significant phytochemicals including proto-berberine, isoquinoline,
bisbenzyl-isoquinoline, and phenolic acids. Other phytochemicals that have been identified
the flowers of B. aristata include flavonoids like quercetin, E-caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, meratin, and rutin.
Vasaka
Vasicine, Luteolin, Carotene, Vasakin, other quinazoline alkaloids, and essential oils.
The leaves are abundant in phytochemical constituents like tannins, saponins, alkaloids,
flavonoids, and phenolics.
Pippali
The fruits contain volatile oil, resin and alkaloids piperine and piperlonguminine.
Kamal
Nelumbo nucifera contributes various pharmacological properties like a nootropic,
anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, etc. Kamala is sweet, astringent,
bitter with cold potency, and used in discoloration of urine, burning sensation,
and for local application in skin ailments.
Honey
Honey is a natural sweet substance, composed of glucose, fructose, polysaccharides
(natural carbohydrates), water, proteins, minerals and vitamins. To find it in our products,
it appears in the list of ingredients on the packaging, under the name HONEY / MIEL.
Sarkara
This has caused confusion in the past as white sugar increases pitta (thus acidity).
By saying "white sugar" the vaidyas actually mean the special ayurvedic sugar made
from sugarcane. This type of sugar is also named Sharkara or "rock sugar" and is
produced by a special production method.
