   About Composition :   
Ashoka
These edicts are preceded chronologically by the Minor Rock Edicts. Three languages were used,
Prakrit, Greek and Aramaic. The edicts are composed in non-standardized and archaic forms of
Prakrit. Prakrit inscriptions were written in Brahmi and Kharosthi scripts, which even a commoner
could read and understand.

Shatavari
steroidal saponins known as shatavarins, oligosaccharides, mucilage, isoflavones,
alkaloids, flavonoids like rutin and quercetin and sterols such as sitosterols.

Lodhra
loturine, loturidine, colloturine, flavonoids, tannins, salireposide, symplocoside,
betasito-glycoside, symploveroside, and benzoylsalireposide.

Ghrit Kumari
to treat various skin and hair problems such as skin injuries, hair fall, dandruff, burns,
and sores. However, there is more to aloe vera than shiny hair, weight loss, and skin treatment.

Manjistha
The various chemical constituents present in Manjistha are quinones, iridoids, oleananes
triterpenoid, bicyclic hexapeptides, anthraquinones. Some notable anthraquinones are
alizarin, purpurin, and rubicordifolin.

Nagkesar
The major fatty acids in nagkesar oil are oleic acid, linoleic acid, stearic acid, and palmitic acid.
Polyphenols and volatiles can contribute an unpleasant odour. These include the 4-phenyl
coumarins mesuol, mammeisin, mesuagin and mammeigin.

Daruharidra
Daruharidra comprises several substantial phytochemicals including bisbenzyl-isoquinoline,
proto-berberine, isoquinoline, and other bioactive constituents like flavonoids and phenolic acids.

Chandrasura
Chandrashoor has long been used and more recently studied for its use as a gentle laxative,
gastrointestinal stimulant, gastroprotective and digestive aid. It is also found to balance vata
dosha in the stomach and intestines.

Priyangu
In Ayurvedic literature, Priyangu is described as cooling, refrigerant, deodorant and antipyretic,
tones up the digestive system, checks excessive perspiration, disinfects intestines, controls
diarrhoea and allays burning sensation during fevers. Leaves are applied in rheumatic joints.
Oil from root is aromatic.

Tagara

Chaulaio

Reethao
The major constituents present in Reetha are saponins, sugars and mucilage. The seed kernels
of Reetha are a rich source of proteins and show a balanced amino acid composition as per the
World Health Organization. In addition to proteins, sugars and fibres are also present.

Gajpippali
The fruits contain two glycosidic substances – scindapsin A and B, which on hydrolysis
yield the aglucons, scindapsinidine A and B. Free sugars, rhamnose, fructose, glucose
and xylose together with some di-and trisaccharides have been identi? ed in the plant.

Sigru
Leaves- amino acids viz., aspartic and glutamic acid, serine. Whole plant- moringine,
moringinine, bayrenol, indole acitic acid, concanensis acid, pteregospermine, carotene
etc. Flowers- Ouercetin, kaempferol.

ρ-cymene, γ-terpinene, and ρ-mentha-1,4-dien-7-ol. Cumin possesses many

Kali Mirch
Black pepper is composed of carbohydrate of 37.4%, proteins of 25.5%, fibres of 23.6%,
