About Composition:   
Cowrie Shell Calx
Cowry shells (dry weight) showed the presence of Alkaloid, Cardiac glycosides,
Tannins and quinones. Chemical analysis revealed the presence of Calcium
(91.3±0.45 mgl100g) and Iron (47.52±0.02 mg/100g) as well as Aluminum
and Sodium in considerable quantities.

Mgsilicate
Magnesium silicate is a compound of magnesium oxide and silicon. It is the magnesium
salt of silicic acid containing an unspecified amount of water. The molecular formula can
be expressed more clearly as MgSiO3.

Oyster Shell Calx
Chemical and microstructure analyses showed that oyster-shells are predominantly composed of
calcium carbonate with rare impurities. Compressive strength tests for soil mortar specimens with
varying blending ratio of cement, water, sand, and oyster-shell were compared with normal cement mortar.
